Bruce Young called the meeting to order on behalf of the Hanson Board of Selectman.
Chairman Bob Hayes spoke to the repairing of roof and lintels at the Hanson Indian Head School.  He addressed both the Hanson BOS and WHRSD School Committee – of the Inter-municipal agreement, the RFQ (request for qualifications) and overall voting process, which was conducted on the recommendation to contract with Gale Associates, Inc., for the roof and lintel repair projects for the Indian Head Elementary School in Hanson.
Mr. Hayes provided an overview of the formation of the subcommittees (i.e. Hanson School Repair Committee, Inter-municipal Committee, etc.) by the Hanson Board of Selectman and School Committee to address building issues with Maquan and Indian Head Schools in Hanson.  After several meetings and going through the bidding process for a designer, there were 9 applicants, highly qualified that were scaled down to 3, that were interviewed. Each was addressed with a set of the same questions, where their responses were recorded and evaluated. All 3 did well – and not all questions had the same answers.
Gale had the initial report study which was provided to all applicants. It was a good discussion and the process worked well to a final end – Gale was picked as the preferred designer.
Chairman Hayes - indicated that under the Inter-Municipal Agreement, a joint vote of the School Committee and Hanson Board of Selectmen was required to approve this designer, Gale Associates, as the selected and qualified designer and submitted a contract to begin the Indian Head roof and lintel projects.

The School Committed voted:
VOTE:  Mr. Small motioned; Mr. Ford seconded; voted to accept Gale Associates as the qualified designer to provide engineering design and consulting services for the Roof Replacement and Slate Roof Areas and Masonry Wall Lintel Replacement at the Indian Head Elementary School and approve the proposal contract, as presented.
